I really enjoyed this article. It's really interesting and well-written. And I think the connection between the attitudes of every other generation is kind of fascinating. I do think the "Reality Bites" crowd was a more cynical one, just as maybe Gen Z will be. That said, the 90s was the Gen X heyday in many ways, and that decade marked the introduction of political correctness as a concept, Rock The Vote, Take Back The Night, Free Tibet and a big effort against climate change (to name a few). We canvassed for Bill Clinton and, though it was also the era of the sensitive (to himself) man, it was a time marked by attempts to make change. I also have a Gen Z nephew who is as politically informed as most adults. So, I guess what I'd say is, I think there's something to this idea about attitudes, but not necessarily about true apathy.
